VENICE TV AWARD – CELEBRATING THE BEST IN TELEVISION
Broadcasters, production companies, streaming services, online platforms are invited to enter. Submissions must have premiered between 1 January, 2024, and 20 September, 2025, with an entry deadline of 30 June.
Two weeks after the Film Festival, a global panel of jurors will meet in Venice for the prestigious Venice TV Award, supported by ACT (Association of Commercial TV), egta (European Group of Television Advertising), and The IMZ International Music + Media Centre.
“As a juror, I really enjoy seeing a fascinatingly broad range of filmmaking subjects and styles on displays,” said Alan Holland, BBC Studios‘ head of specialist factual productions.
With winners spanning multiple genres and formats, the award highlights the diversity and excellence of the television landscape. From groundbreaking drama and compelling documentaries to cutting-edge news coverage and innovative entertainment formats, the Venice TV Award acknowledges those pushing the boundaries of television.
Commenting on the importance of recognising excellence in television Katty Roberfroid, Director General of the egta, said, “We are happy to support the Venice TV Award. Great content is a must for the future of our industry, so we are pleased to acknowledge the merit of those who produce it.”
Presided over by a jury of leading TV experts, the Venice TV Award will award TV shows across the categories Documentary, Best Series, Best TV Movie, News, Performing Arts, Comedy, Children/Youth, Reality TV, Light Entertainment, Program Promotion, Branded Entertainment, Sport, Best Of Technical High Quality, Cross-Platform Programming, New Talent, Best Soap/Telenovela, Animation, Cinematography, Direction.
„Television awards like the Venice TV Award are important because it validates the commitment to producing high-quality content,“ states Grégoire Polad director general Association of Commercial Television in Europe.
Young creatives from around the world have as well a platform at the Venice Television Awards, Minnie Ferrara, Director at the Luchino Visconti Film School Milano, reflected on the importance of the award for emerging creatives: “The Venice TV New Talent Awards are important for encouraging young, creative minds. By recognising emerging talent, the awards inspire students to explore new ideas and expand their creative boundaries.”
Winner will be announced End of September.
